10 Interesting Facts About Dragon Ball

          Dragon Ball is back again in business with Dragon Ball Chou! or Dragon Ball Super. The fans are excited about the upcoming 2018 movies as well. Rumors say that the movie will be about the history of Saiyans. I personally consider DB to be a great contribution to the world of manga and anime. So here's a blog dedicated to Akira Toriyama's magnum opus - ten facts about DB.

1) Toriyama's View On GT:

i.         Toriyama does not hate DBGT. It shouldn't come to the fans as a surprise that the man who created Dragon Ball merchandise doesn't hate one of the two most hated things within the DB fan community (the other being Dragon Ball Evolution). It shouldn't be left forgotten that Toriyama was involved both in making Evolution and in allowing GT. He says:

"原作　ドラゴンボールの　壮大なサイドストーリーであるドラゴンボールGTを　ボクといっしょに楽しく観ていただければ　幸いです。 If you are able, along with me, to enjoy watching the original Dragon Ball's grand side-story Dragon Ball GT, you will be pleased."

2) Dragon Ball And Fans:

ii.       Many fans are totally ignorant of Dragon Ball, the original series that aired before DBZ. It was the story of a young Goku wandering all around the world with a teenage Bulma. Goku began his adventures as a little boy and the series ended with him defeating Piccolo, winning the Tenkaichi Budokai and marrying Chi Chi. But many fans started watching DBZ first so they don't know much about what happened when Goku had no idea he was a Saiyan.

3) Zamasu Victor?

iii.     The Z Warriors defeated all their enemies except for one: Zamasu. I mean he's dead and his threat averted but the job was not accomplished by our orthodox heroes. If you exclude Beerus who wasn't technically an enemy (you can't kill a god, can you?), the main protagonists had overpowered all their previous adversaries but they were powerles before Zamasu (especially when he merged with his partner). If it weren't for Zeno-sama's intervention, Zamasu would've destroyed Goku and Vegeta.

4) Frieza's Repentance?

iv.     Apparently, all of Goku's enemies have repented except for Frieza. You can count Cell out as he was never mentioned again after Gohan blasted him dead so we can't be sure what happened with him in the Other World. But we know what Frieza did after he died (stayed hung in hell, listening to toys playing all around!). He was evil as long as he lived and became more evil when he died (the Golden Frieza form!).

5) Goku's Evil Version?

v.       Idea of an evil Goku pre-existed DBS. It was first proposed in DBAF that Goku becomes evil and then the other warriors scheme to destroy him. Toyotaro (the man who writes DBS manga) was probably involved in making DBAF. For aliens, DBAF means Dragon Ball April Fool so don't try searching on YouTube for it.

6) Goku Stronger than Beerus?

vi.     If Universe Seven wins the Tournament of Power by overpowering Jiren (the strongest man in Universe Eleven), Goku will become even stronger than Beerus, his God of Destruction. This is because Jiren is stronger than Belmod, his God of Destruction. Belmod is stronger than Beerus (as that "joker" won against him in a fist-fight). So if Goku excels Jiren then Beerus wouldn't feel so mighty and proud as he does now.

7) Bulma's True Love?

vii.    Bulma was once attracted to Goku when she was on Planet Namek. She imagined him, realized he was a young guy then and then thought what if she had him instead of Chi Chi marrying Kakarot. Well, she didn't get what she temporarily desired but someone more sensible than Bardock's son!

8) When Will Goku Die?

viii.  Goku can live for a thousand years because the good Old Kai gave up his remaining life so Goku could go back on earth and help Gohan kill Evil Buu. Thus, Goku is immortal for another ten centuries!

9) Arabic Dragon Ball:

ix.      In the Arabic dub for Dragon Ball, they changed the way how Saiyans transform into great apes. They summon their Ozaru forms instead of turning into big monkeys. There may be something religiously unacceptable for Arabs in showing human or Saiyan progress into heavy chimps. Theory of Evolution, I guess?

10) Piccolo And Vegeta Are Legit!

x.       Piccolo and Vegeta are the smartest of all Dragon Ball characters. They were the smartest villains and now they are the wisest heroes. Piccolo (the father one) was the person who destroyed Shenron after wishing for eternal youth, making it impossible for anyone to wish for his death anymore. Vegeta showed how shrewd he was when he was on Namek, trying to hide from Frieza, killing his goonies and gathering Dragon Balls. Piccolo was the one who took Buu into the Hyperbolic Time Chamber (previously, the Room of Spirit and Time). That was, according to me, the best move ever played by a protagonist in Dragon Ball Z. Vegeta planned the entire act of people of earth getting revived and giving up their shares of energy to create the greatest Spirit Bomb ever to annihilate Kid Buu.
